What You'll Need
- Administrator access to Barracuda Email Security Gateway or Cloud
- An active Barracuda Email Security subscription
- ~3 minutes to complete setup
- Your Clariti account with adapter management permissions
Get Your Credentials
Log in to the Barracuda Email Security console. Navigate to Settings > API Token (or Advanced > API Access depending on your product version). Click Generate Token and copy the token value.
If your deployment is on-premises, ensure the API is enabled in the gateway configuration before generating a token.
Enter Credentials in Clariti

Verify Connection
Click Test Connection in Clariti. A successful connection returns a green checkmark. The first data sync typically completes within a few minutes.
Troubleshooting
- 401 Unauthorized — Verify the API token has not been rotated or expired. Regenerate it in the Barracuda console if needed.
- 403 Forbidden — Ensure the account used to generate the token has full administrator privileges.
- Timeout — On-premises gateways may need firewall rules to allow outbound API access. Clariti retries automatically.
